Recently I have been having a conversation with different people in my life around goals, dreams and how we go about going for what we want in life.
A few things I have observed to be accurate is:
Most Human beings think backwards. We don’t commit to a goal unless we can figure out how we are going to achieve it first.I often hear from people I know about how they want to do something but when I ask them for specifics or when they will begin, they tend to be vague about the details or list reasons why they can’t start yet but they will eventually.
We are trying to protect ourselves from risk of failure. We tend to be hesitant about setting a date unless we know we can accomplish it first. We overthink and overcomplicate things and many times put off our dreams until a “perfect moment” in life comes along, not realizing that the opportunity to act is always at our fingertips and no such perfect moment exists.
There is no perfect moment to act on your dreams. You either do it or you don’t. You just have to set the date and choose to commit. Once you actually make that choice to dedicate yourself, without even knowing how, that the universe will align itself for you to meet your goal. The moment you make that decision, your mind will open up to possibilities and actions that you didn’t see before you made the commitment. Once that date is set and you know without a doubt that event/dream/goal will happen, you will find a way to it. You just have to trust in yourself and your own abilities. It’s really simple!
